Johnathan (pronouns: he/him) is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. Trained in Integrative Systemic Therapy (IST) at the Family Institute at Northwestern University, he recognizes and values that lived human experiences occur in a larger context that varies from one person, couple, or family to the next. He strives to approach the therapeutic relationship with empathy, compassion, and curiosity. Through a collaborative and strengths-based approach, he works with clients to incorporate various therapeutic approaches to reach their unique goals and needs, while building on the strengths they already possess.
Johnathan has had the privilege of working with individuals, couples, and families from different cultural backgrounds across the life span, in increasing their understanding of their relationships with themselves and others. He believes being vulnerable takes a great deal of courage and making the decision to begin therapy can be difficult. He works with every client to tailor his therapeutic approach to bring about meaningful change.
Johnathan received his Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy degree at The Family Institute at Northwestern University, and his Bachelor of Science in in Human Development and Family Sciences at Texas Tech University. Before pursuing his career in Marriage and Family Therapy, he worked on research looking at gender and sexual identity. Johnathan provides therapy in English and Spanish.
He is supervised by Nosheen Hydari, LMFT.
